International Alliance

The International Alliance of Fire and Rescue Instructors

The IAFRI was formed to bring together some of the worlds leading Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management Instructors. The alliance has instructors that are fluent in the following languages.

Each of the Instructors are highly skilled and experienced in their specialized areas. The following programs are based on International Best Practice and have been developed through IAFRI agreement on the Safety Standards and Curriculum.

Compartment Fire Behaviour Training
 

CFBT Awareness: 8 Hours. Provides a theoretical introduction to compartment fire behaviour which includes small scale demonstrations. This can be run on your site.

CFBT Level I: 2 Days providing the fundamentals of compartment fire behavior, risk recognition and 3D fire control Techniques. Practical Live Fire sessions in a Flashover Simulator provide the student with an opportunity to witness the development stages up to rollover. A variety of nozzles techniques can be practiced in real conditions and this provides the opportunity to develop mitigation skills.

CFBT Level II: 3 Days designed to develops skill in recognition of key fire behavior indicators and 3D fire control Tactics. Practical Live Fire sessions in a Flashover Simulator allow the student to experience conditions in fuel and ventilation controlled environments. Computer based scenarios are used to develop "synthetic experience" in risk recognition. Case studies are used to develop A variety of nozzles techniques can be practiced in real conditions and this provides the opportunity to develop mitigation skills

CFBT Instructor: 5 Day program designed to develops the essential knowledge and skills required to safely and effectively deliver CFBT. Level I and II are prerequisites for the Instructor Program.

 

Tactical Ventilation

TV Level I: 2 Days providing the fundamentals of recognising the Ventilation Profile. Designed to develop the skills and knowledge required to work safely as part of a team conducting tactical ventilation operations. CFBT Awareness is a prerequisite for this program.

Tactical Ventilation Instructor: 3 Days. Provides the knowledge and skills required to develop a safe and effective Tactic Ventilation Plans that are based on a sound knowledge of compartment fire behavior. Includes and application of natural and assisted ventilation and case studies to reinforce the implications of ventilation in real world situations. CFBT Level 1 or TV Level 1 are prerequisites.

 

Positive Pressure Ventilation and Attack

PPV Techniques: 8 Hours. Introduces the basic concepts of PPV including risk recognition, placement, defensive/offensive use.

PPV Tactics: 2 days. Develops knowledge and skills required to safely and effectively implement and monitor tactical ventilation plans involving PPV to enhance fire and rescue operations.
